Water Activities for the Ultimate Super Soaker Weekend
Summer at YOGI BEAR'S JELLYSTONE PARK™ means one thing: it's time to get SOAKED! Super Soaker weekends are back in full swing, and campers have two chances to get in on the super-soaking fun: June 12th-14th and July 17th-19th. These weekends are very popular with campers, so book your campsite now! In addition to the campground-wide events like the wet "hey" ride and Rec activities, make the most of your super soaking weekend by doing these fun games at your campsite.
Back-to-back water balloon relay
This game works best with at least four players, and is great for large groups! To play, fill up some water balloons and divide them up into two buckets at a starting position. Place two more buckets 15 feet away. The goal is to be the first team to get the most water balloons from point A to point B. Have your teams partner up and place one water balloon between their backs. The partners must walk together and attempt to get the water balloon into the second bucket without touching it. If the balloon breaks, the partners must turn around and start over with another balloon. Set a timer for 10 minutes, and whoever has the most balloons in their second bucket at the end wins!
Please note: water balloons are only to be used at individual campsites and not during Jellystone Park sanctioned activities.
The white whale
Tired of Marco Polo? Enjoy playing this game while swimming at our newly resurfaced and updated swimming pools! This simple game can be played with at least three players. One person pretends to be a whale and floats on his/her back around the pool. The other players avoid touching the whale while swimming around. At a random moment the whale will call out, "hungry whale," flip over, and tag the first person he/she touches. That person becomes the whale and the game continues.
Speed cup races
You'll need a few materials to set up this game, but it's sure to be a hit with the entire family. To play, gather string, at least two water guns, buckets of water, and plastic cups. You'll also need two solid structures to tie the strings to (trees will work best at the campsite). Tie a string to one side of a tree. Then, cut a hole in the bottom of a plastic cup and slide it through the string. Then, tie off the other side of the string about 10-15 feet away. The object is for individual players to use the water guns to shoot the plastic cup from one end of the string to the other. The first one to make it across wins! You'll want to keep a few buckets of water nearby for easy refills during the game.
Water gun freeze tag
This game is great for those who love to blast each other with water guns! One person is "It" and stands in one place with a water gun while others run around a large open area. The person who is "It" squirts people at random. Whoever gets squirted is now frozen, and can only be "thawed" when another player tags him or her or crawls between his/her legs.
Water balloon hot potato
This is a twist on the classic hot potato game, no potatoes needed. All you'll need are water balloons and a device to play music on. One person should act as the DJ while the other players gather into a circle. The players pass the water balloon around the circle while the music plays. When the music stops, whoever is holding the water balloon must break it over his/her head and is out. Play until only one person remains!
