Spring is the Perfect Time to Visit JELLYSTONE PARK™
In the words of CINDY BEAR™, everything clicks in the spring! That’s why we think now is the perfect time to visit beautiful Jellystone Park in Robert, Louisiana. Here are our top reasons to visit in the springtime!
YOGI BEAR'S JELLYSTONE PARK™ is home to great events throughout the year to make your camping experience memorable. Spring is no different! Now that YOGI BEAR™ and friends are out of hibernation, there are events every weekend and all week long during spring break. Join us on Easter weekend (April 19th-21st) for themed festivities like egg and Easter bonnet decorating and a candy hunt on Easter morning. Don't forget to grab a picture of the little cubs with the Easter Bunny! For the adventure seekers in your family, participate in our raw egg volleyball tournament...if you dare!
We have lots of activities planned to pamper Mom and Dad for Mother's Day and Father's Day weekends. Moms can enjoy a "Mom's only" wine and cheese party on May 10th and a champagne and pancake breakfast on Sunday morning (May 12th) that is free for moms to attend. A steak dinner (fee required) will be held on Saturday evening on both weekends, along with live music at night. Dads will enjoy a pool party on Friday, June 14th, as well as the chance to be a part of our golf cart poker run. It's the perfect way to relax and treat Mom or Dad!
Join us on Memorial Day weekend (May 24th-27th) for a volleyball championship, DIY tie-dye shirts, arts and crafts, and a golf cart poker run. There will also be live music by the Reaux Shambo band on Sunday night—then sleep in on Monday. There is a three-night minimum stay for Memorial Day weekend, so reserve your campsite now.
These are just a few of the great things we have planned in the spring. See our calendar for a full list of events!
Crawfish boils, cookoffs, and more
This is southern Louisiana after all...of course, food plays a major role in our springtime festivities! We start off the spring season with our first ever Crawfish Boil Cookoff April 5th-7th. It's one of the tastiest competitions around. Compete against other campers to see who can boil the best craw-daddy! Dance off the calories with live music on Saturday night. Then, join us the next weekend (April 12th-14th) as we celebrate all things strawberry at our Strawberry Festival. Participate in our strawberry eating contest on Saturday, create strawberry crafts, and join in on our strawberry-themed "hey" ride.
Do your friends tell you that you make the best Jambalaya around? Put your skills to the test during our Jambalaya cookoff weekend April 26th-28th. Winner of the cookoff gets a trophy (and bragging rights)! Our invitational horseshoe tournament is also that weekend. A steak dinner (fee required) and live music will be held on Saturday night. If that wasn't enough, we'll also be hosting a Chili cookoff and margarita social Cinco De Mayo weekend (May 3rd-5th).
Yogi Bear is always up for a delicious pick-e-nic, so we're throwing an old fashioned Great American Picnic on Saturday, June 8th. Enjoy .50 cent hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks, along with classic family activities and a dance at night.
Great weather, fewer crowds
Did we mention that Jellystone Park is just gorgeous in the spring? Less humidity and cooler evening temperatures are great for tent camping, hanging out by the campfire, or enjoying the many nights of live music at the Rec Center. Plus, spring is the perfect time to enjoy the amenities at Jellystone Park before the smaller cubs make their way out of school for the summer.
There are many great reasons to visit Jellystone Park in the springtime. Be sure to reserve your campsite, cabin, or RV site now!
