The Krewe of Tchefuncte

This tradition goes back almost 50 years, beginning in 1973. For those unfamiliar, the Krewe of Tchefuncte is a spectacular boat parade that cruises down the Tchefuncte River on February 19th. The parade starts at 1:00 PM in Madisonville at Salty's Marina and cruises downriver to the Maritime Museum. At the end of the parade, the boats will turn around and dock at the Madisonville Bridge near the north side of the riverfront. If you want a spot near the best viewing places, be sure to stand offshore near one of those landmarks!

History buff? Slidell's Mardi Gras Museum might be right up your alley!

Krewe de Paws of Olde Towne
