What often comes to mind when Bayou families think “October”? Halloween! Although it is still a few weekends away, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone National Park isn’t wasting time! There will be family-friendly Halloween festivities for campers every weekend in October:

Despite the recent summer heat, the signs of fall are everywhere: from pumpkin-lined entryways to returning fall sports favorites. It’s an exciting time of year for everyone. Good old Yogi Bear and all of his camping friends hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend. He certainly enjoyed his time at the horseshoe tourney and the three on three basketball championship. The Golf Cart Poker Run was exciting, too! What? Missed out on the fun? No worries! There are plenty of family-friendly events for Louisianans who love camping coming up the rest of the month of September here at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park.

Some of our more experienced campers may remember the movie Picnic which debuted in theaters and drive-ins (remember those) way back in 1955; others may have seen this movie for the first time on cable TV or Amazon.  The award-winning film, starring William Holden, won many fans over with its depiction of an action-packed, town picnic taking place in Kansas over the Labor Day weekend.  It featured dancing, family games, competitive sports, river paddle boats, the crowning of the town queen, and lots and lots of "pic-a-nic" baskets filled with homemade goodies.  It was a wonderful Labor Day picnic extravaganza.

Campers at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Robert, Louisiana are in for exciting times during the entire month of August.
