Did you know that Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park is hosting another fun Rake and Bake Weekend for scouts and volunteer Friday February 21st through Sunday February 23rd? We invited the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the USA to get the park ready for the upcoming 2014 camping season.
Our area scouts enjoy camping, kayaking, canoeing, wilderness survival, fishing, and citizenship. We are excited to offer our campground as an opportunity for them to accomplish so many of these worthwhile endeavors, all in the efforts of a character building experience.
The Boy Scouts of America provides the nation’s foremost youth program for character development and values-based leadership training. The Boy Scouts have 2.6 million youth members between the ages of 7 and 21 and more than a million volunteers throughout the United States. The Girl Scouts of the USA has a membership of over 3.2 million girls and adults. We know that many of our Louisiana-based Boy and Girl Scouts, enjoying the campground and our great outdoors, go on to become regular Jellystone campers with their families. We know they enjoy camping out at Louisiana’s #1 Campground!
Young people who are able to be self-sufficient in the outdoors have the confidence to meet any other challenges in life. Even Yogi Bear, in the television episode “Cub Scout Boo-Boo”, tries to persuade Boo-Boo to become a Boy Scout. Boo-Boo declines the offer, but when Yogi says it is the “Cub Scouts”, he whole-heartedly agrees. Yogi believes in the core principles of scouting and supports the efforts of these young men and women who want to develop their character and become strong leaders in their community.
We gratefully welcome these youngsters who are volunteering to keep our campgrounds looking as beautiful as ever.
Come and join in the fun and see why Jellystone Park is Louisiana’s Scouting Campgrounds!
