4 Great Ways to Get Young Campers Involved at YOGI BEAR’S JELLYSTONE PARK™
Camping has many benefits as we all head to the summer of 2017! Among these benefits are all the important life lessons children can learn from spending time camping in Robert, LA. At Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park, we not only want kids to have fun in the sun, but we also want to help them grow and have fun. For that essential reason, YOGI BEAR™ creates opportunities for them to feel like part of the family here at the campgrounds in Robert, LA.
Be sure to take advantage of these four ways to get young campers involved at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park:
- Join Yogi Bear’s Fan Club: For children under age 11, joining Yogi Bear’s Fan Club is a great way to feel like part of the Yogi Bear Family. The cost is $8.00 per child, and the joys are limitless. Kids even get a birthday card for their birthday. Included in their special birthday greeting will be a coupon redeemable at guest services. When they redeem their coupon, they’ll get a coupon for one free snow ball and a souvenir gift! It’s fun to be part of the fan club. Surprise a loved one with this great gift, and help them to feel like part of the Yogi Bear Family.
- Sign up for the Junior Ranger Program: According to YOGI BEAR™, “The Junior Ranger Program is designed to build character, proper work ethics, and responsibility.” This program is available to kids ages 12-15, but they must have signed permission from their parents/guardians. In exchange for volunteering, they’ll earn Yogi Bucks (amount based on years involved). Yogi Bucks can be used in the Rec Center, the 19th Hole, and the Ranger Station. Plus, kids will love celebrating their hard work at the end of the season: there is a Junior Ranger Banquet for all the Junior Rangers who fulfill their volunteering requirements. They’ll even receive a certificate of achievement. Hard work, responsibility, and commitment are definitely worth celebrating! - Enjoy coloring pages: Inspire excitement for the upcoming camping trip by printing out fun coloring pages on our website. Kids can color their favorite friends from the campgrounds. They can practice their writing by making lists of all they’re looking forward to doing at the campgrounds or writing their favorite character a letter to be included with their drawings.
- Involve kids in the planning: Check out the events calendar or our recent blogs for details on what’s coming up at the campgrounds. After comparing your family’s schedule, involve kids in choosing from the weekends that will work for the family. Then, show them how to prepare for the camping trip by stopping at the store for fun camping snacks and pack suitcases together.
