4 Great New Year’s Resolutions for JELLYSTONE PARK™ Campers
The New Year has finally arrived! 2017 is already bursting with possibility and opportunity, and it is just a few days old. Making a New Year’s Resolution for the great outdoors is an excellent way to look forward to the year ahead, especially when creating it around something enjoyable like camping. While waiting for Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park to reopen in late February, families can make cool camping resolutions together. Just make sure to make them attainable, so it is will be a fun learning experience for everyone.
Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park suggests four New Year’s Resolutions that everyone will love:
- Change the scenery: There are a lot of ways to accomplish this goal anywhere across Louisiana. For travel-enthusiasts, explore new places around the state. For those who love camping indoors, stay in the warm house and enjoy games and movies; then venture outside for a long walk. Visit neighbors and say hello! Make every weekend a fun one until we open. “Staycations” can be very enjoyable.
- Learn the constellations: While waiting for Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park to reopen, delight in learning about the evening sky. When we open once again, it will be fun to identify different stars and constellations while snuggled up around the campfire.
- Try new and kid-friendly recipes: It feels good to find a recipe that everyone loves and looks forward to eating. Make an effort to find two or three new recipes to try—families just might find a new favorite! Create a recipe of your own; explore Pinterest, camping blogs, or see some of Yogi’s favorite fall recipes.
- Record the fun outdoors: Make a goal to keep track of all the camping fun this year in a scrapbook or journal. Include pictures, recipes, prizes, camping crafts, and tickets. As a family, take turns writing down favorite memories and different traditions. This will be fun to look back on next New Year’s and as the kids grow older.
For an extra challenge, try putting a personal twist on these resolutions to make them your own.
